Abstract Carbon dioxide (dry) reforming of methane is an optimum route to chemically utilize natural gas and mitigate the greenhouse emission. Nickel might be the optimum active component of the potential catalyst designed. Carbon deposition is a fatal problem to nickel-based catalyst in the dry reforming process. The varieties of active components, preparation methods, supports and various promoters of the reforming catalysts as well as the formation, surface structure and the properties of the intermediates in the reforming process were systematically reviewed. |
